Hello everyone,
Today, I want to share with you a little diary entry about my day at home when school was closed. It’s been quite an interesting experience, and I thought I’d jot down some of the highlights.
Morning Routines
The morning started with a peaceful sunrise. I woke up early, as usual, and took a moment to stretch and appreciate the quiet of the house. It was a bit strange not having the hustle and bustle of school, but I enjoyed the silence. I had my breakfast, which was a bit different without the school canteen. I made a delicious pancake with some fresh berries – yum!
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Fresh berries for topping
I followed the recipe that Mom had given me. It was my first time making pancakes, and I was pretty proud of how they turned out.
Learning at Home
After breakfast, I logged onto the online classroom. Our teachers had prepared lessons for us to follow at home. I found it quite challenging at first, but I tried my best to keep up. We had math, English, and science lessons, all from the comfort of my room. I even had a science experiment where I made volcano eruptions using baking soda and vinegar – it was so much fun!
# Python code to simulate a volcano eruption
import random
def volcano():
for _ in range(10): # Simulating 10 eruptions
lava = random.choice(['🔥', '🔥🔥', '🔥🔥🔥'])
print(lava)
volcano()
I also did some reading and writing exercises. It was different, but I was learning a lot.
Lunch Break
Lunch was a family affair. We had pizza for lunch, and we all helped make it. It was a great way to spend time together, and we had a lot of fun.
Afternoon Activities
After lunch, I decided to take a break from the screen. I grabbed my sketchbook and drew some pictures of my pets. I also spent some time playing chess with Dad. It was a good opportunity to improve my strategic thinking.
Evening Reflections
As the day came to an end, I took a moment to reflect on what I had done. It was a day full of new experiences, and I learned a lot. I realized that even though I miss my friends and teachers, I can still have a great day at home.
I hope you enjoyed reading my little diary entry. Stay safe, and take care!
And that’s the story of my day when school was closed. I hope it gives you a glimpse into what it’s like for kids during these times. Remember, every day is a learning opportunity, even if it’s different from what we’re used to.
